Yes. All prices for retreats are inclusive of food and ensuite accommodation.

Unfortunately, not. As the Hermitage is a working property with cattle, geese, ducks and a wide variety of bird life, it is not possible to allow pets.

Facilities

Visitors are always welcome at the Hermitage and you can book a tour with the Director in advance if you would like to know more about the place.

Yes, all cottages can be booked by the public.

At this stage the dining Room is for guests only. Plans are underway to reinstate the very popular “Thursday night roasts” which will be open to the public.

At this stage, liturgies and masses are arranged for those doing retreats and other programs at the Hermitage. However, outside of these arrangements, the Chapel is open to the public from 7:00am-9:00pm each day and people are most welcome to visit.

Casually, and in winter, with many layers.

Fresh linen, towels and soap are provided in each room and in each cottage. All rooms and cottages have effective heating and cooling.

The Hermitage boasts 500 acres of beautiful grounds and walkways to immerse yourself in the stunning Southern Highlands environment.

Yes, there are numerous common areas and as well as smaller intimate spaces for quiet reflection.

Only those organised by visiting groups running programs.

Yes, there are many local attractions close by. Further information on these is located in the Hermitage booklets located in all rooms and cottages.

The Hermitage is just an hour and a quarter drive from Sydney Airport and just under two hours from Canberra. There is also a regular train service to Mittagong and a lift from the station to the Hermitage can be pre-arranged.

Once you click on the "Add to Cart" button and add the item to your shopping cart, enter the desired quantity in the "Quantity" dropdown option on the right side of the page. If you have already added to the cart, go to Cart, click on the quantity dropdown box to the right of the title and choose the desired quantity. The quantity number for the item and order amount will be updated automatically.
